Hi Lis,

Yup you're absolutely right. Being unconventional is really important. That is, you have to go against what you are used to doing.

I also agree with your point about visualization. This is such a powerful tool. I will add, though, that creative visualization in and of itself is definitely not enough. Taking action is really important too!

Thanks for the comment...

Since I am obsessed with lifestyle design, goal setting and the like I want to share a little bit that I've learned so far.
1. You have to recommit to doing things the 'unconventional way' everyday.
2. For goals, really see yourself completing the goal (visualize it), also visualize the consequences of not completing it, possible upsets along the way and how you can overcome them.

Hi Daniel,

You're right -- breaking down goals is a good way to set milestones along the way to your ultimate destination. This is a great way to keep your motivation level up too instead of getting overwhelmed by the ultimate objective.

Hi Jason,

Excellent post. I personally find that if I break my goal further down to short term mini goals to achieve before the big one work better.

Cheers

Thanks, Rob. Glad you stopped by!

Steph - you're right about finding social networks for this sort of thing. Then again, you're my in-house social media expert. ;-)

Thanks jason. That was a very inspiring post. I find it easiest to obtain goals when I share them with others. Thank you for sharing yours with us. Not only does that help build a support system and a motivational team, but putting them publicly out there helps me see them and keeps me focused.

Do you have any advice on this? Are there any social tools that you use to build the growing support of others while keeping your goals fresh in your mind?

I would love to be enlightened. Thanks!

Thanks, John. February sounds about right. :) Glad the post inspired you. Let me know how it's going... maybe around June? Best of luck!

Excellent post, Jason! Youre so right about NY resolutions. They always get pushed under the carpet somewhere around the end of february. I like that you have just two really detailed goals spelled out for the year. Time for me to do the same. Glad I found your site.
